As we are nearing the end of the week I am beginning to learn that life with Jesus is a wonderful adventure. One minute your heart is on fire for what He is doing and you may have all these dreams and everything is falling into place. The next minute your dreams are being rerouted in a blink in a way you may have never expected. As I’ve learned here “go with the flow” which me and a few members of the team had to learn better. Your dreams are never what you thought they would be and you are not where you thought you would be, yet, that’s the dream of living life with Jesus; He has given this adventure to you and he can reroute it at any moment and you have to be ready. Somehow you are doing everything you imagined but better when these dreams are rerouted according to his will.
As we arrived here in the DR last weekend the needs of the people here didn’t seem as great as the needs of the people in Haiti. Today as we began day two of building in the slums of Santiago, it became clearer to me. Jesus was rerouting our team to help us all better understand that this is His adventure and He is wanting to show us more of the world and leave His footprints not just in Haiti but everywhere. I was able to have amazing conversations with young and old despite the language barrier. With the little language skills I have, He gave me the confidence in His reroute to make the most out of the people I encountered and the conversations we had.

What an amazing experience! I always wonder who receives the most – those helped or those helping!! Thank you for your continued mission work and for being the eyes, ears, hands, feet, and heart of Jesus to those in the Dominican Republic. What a gift you are to God’s people! You have all been on my mind and in my prayers this week. Safe travels back and we can’t wait to hear about the trip. May God bless you all!
